BUILDING MANAGER COURSE BC & AB PROGRAM STANDARDS & GOVERNANCE
Building Manager Course BC & AB is A concise statement of assessment standards, learner rights, and quality assurance practices. Applies to All learners, instructors, and assessors participating in the program. Effective date August 20, 2026 Document owner Program Director Scheduled review Purpose and Scope August 2027, or sooner where a material change is required. These standards establish the minimum rules for assessment, grading, appeals, and program maintenance. They apply to every formal assessment in the Building Manager Course BC & AB. Where a course outline or assessment instruction gives a more specific requirement, that requirement applies to the assessment. Exam Policy and Academic Integrity • Learners must complete quizzes, assignments, and final examinations using their own work. Collaboration, coaching, or use of external assistance is permitted only where the assessment instructions expressly allow it. • Only reference materials and tools identified as permitted for an assessment may be used. An assessment is closed-book unless the course materials state otherwise. • Assessments must be submitted within the stated availability period. Learners are responsible for confirming that an online submission has been received. • The program may use identity verification, randomized questions, review of submission patterns, or other reasonable measures to protect assessment integrity. • Learners receive one initial final-exam attempt and one re-attempt after completing the required review activity. Additional attempts are exceptional and require written approval from the Program Director. • Plagiarism, impersonation, unauthorized sharing of questions or answers, falsified records, or other academic misconduct may result in a reassessment, a failing grade, removal from the program, or another proportionate outcome. Grading and Completion Standard Assessment component Weight Minimum expectation Knowledge checks and module quizzes 30% Complete all assigned checks. Applied exercises and assignments 30% Complete all required submissions. Final examination 40% Achieve at least 70%. To earn course completion, a learner must achieve an overall weighted grade of at least 70%, meet the final exam minimum, and complete every mandatory activity. Grades are based on the published rubric or answer key for the assessment. When a graded submission requires instructor review, the program will normally provide the result and available feedback within 10 business days.
Effective August 20, 2026 | BUILDING MANAGER COURSE BC & AB PROGRAM STANDARDS & GOVERNANCE Appeals Process • Step 1: A learner may request an informal clarification from the instructor within 5 business days of receiving the result. • Step 2: If unresolved, the learner may submit a written appeal to the Program Director within 10 business days of the grading decision. The appeal must identify the assessment, the decision being challenged, the basis for the appeal, and relevant supporting information. • Step 3: The Program Director will arrange a review by a qualified person not involved in the original decision where reasonably possible. The reviewer may confirm the result, adjust the result, or require reassessment. • A written outcome will normally be provided within 10 business days of receiving a complete appeal. The outcome of the formal appeal is final within the program. Program Governance and Update Cycle The Program Director is accountable for approving these standards, monitoring assessment quality, and ensuring that instructors apply published requirements consistently. Instructors and assessors are responsible for using the applicable rubric, maintaining assessment records, and escalating integrity concerns promptly. The program is reviewed at least once each year. An earlier review is triggered by material regulatory or industry changes, learner feedback, assessment results, delivery issues, or identified quality risks. Approved changes are version-controlled, posted in the learning platform, and communicated to active learners when they affect course requirements. Changes will not be applied retroactively in a way that disadvantages a learner who has already completed the affected requirement. Document control: Version 1.0 | Owner: Program Director | Next scheduled review: August 2027 Version 1.0 | Effective August 20, 2026 |
